En quelques mots, un parcours musical…

Né en 2002, Nicolas Kilhoffer commence l’étude du piano dès l’âge de 7 ans à Saverne, sa ville natale. Débutant l’apprentissage de l’orgue en autodidacte et accompagnant la liturgie dès ses dix ans, il fait la rencontre de Rémy Kalck avec qui il travaille pendant cinq ans avant d’intégrer, en 2017 la classe d’orgue de Daniel Maurer au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Strasbourg où il obtient en 2024 son Diplôme d’Études Musicales à l’unanimité et avec les félicitations du jury.

Parallèlement à son cursus d’orgue et d’improvisation au conservatoire, il y poursuit également l’étude du piano avec Elyette Weil ainsi que l’harmonie avec Gaël Lozac’h.

Menant de front des études supérieures à Nantes, Nicolas Kilhoffer complète sa formation au conservatoire de cette même ville dans la classe de piano de Victoria Kamyshinets. Il a participé à des master classes de Philippe Lefebvre, Vincent Dubois, Thierry Escaich et Thomas Ospital et bénéficie désormais des conseils de Johann Vexo.

Il se produit régulièrement en France et à l’étranger (Autriche, Canada, États-Unis, Grèce, Kenya, Portugal) lors de récitals au cours desquels l’improvisation tient une grande place, et a eu l’opportunité de jouer de nombreux instruments lors de stages récents en Australie et en Nouvelle-Calédonie. Nicolas Kilhoffer a également enseigné l’improvisation à Nairobi (Kenya), lors d’une master class suivie par de nombreux organistes venus d’Afrique de l’Est, et plus récemment à l’Université de Victoria en Colombie-Britannique dans le cadre d’un semestre d’échange.

In a few words, a musical path…

Born in 2002 in Saverne (Eastern France), Nicolas Kilhoffer first studied piano at the age of 7. After teaching himself organ and playing at church from the age of 10, he has been taught in his hometown music school before being admitted, in 2017, at the Conservatoire in Strasbourg where his teachers includes Daniel Maurer (organ and improvisation), Elyette Weil (piano) and Gaël Lozac’h (harmony). He graduated from the Strasbourg Conservatory in 2024 with highest honors.

Carrying out business studies in Nantes, Nicolas Kilhoffer completed his training at the Conservatoire of the same city in the piano studio of Victoria Kamyshinets. He also attended several masterclasses given by Philippe Lefebvre, Vincent Dubois, Thierry Escaich (Notre-Dame de Paris) and Thomas Ospital (Saint-Eustache, Paris), and now has the opportunity to study under the guidance of Johann Vexo (choir organist at Notre-Dame de Paris) in addition of his Conservatory program.

He performs regularly in France and abroad (Austria, Canada, the United States, Greece, Kenya, Portugal), giving recitals in which improvisation plays a central role. He has also had the opportunity to play a wide variety of instruments during recent internships in Australia and New Caledonia. Nicolas Kilhoffer has taught improvisation in Nairobi (Kenya), leading a master class attended by numerous organists from across East Africa, and more recently at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, as part of a semester exchange.
