En quelques mots, un parcours musical…

Organiste et improvisateur français originaire d’Alsace, Nicolas Kilhoffer développe aujourd’hui son activité entre la France et les États-Unis. Régulièrement invité en récital, ses programmes tissent un dialogue entre improvisation et répertoire, de la Renaissance à la création contemporaine.

Depuis l’automne 2026, il poursuit un Master of Music à Yale University (États-Unis), dans la classe de James O’Donnell, organiste émérite de Westminster Abbey (Londres). Lauréat de la Wilson Family Sacred Music Internship, Nicolas Kilhoffer a également été nommé Organ Scholar à Brick Church, à Manhattan (New York), pour une résidence d’un an.

Après avoir découvert l’orgue en autodidacte, il intègre la classe de Daniel Maurer au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Strasbourg, où il obtient en 2024 son Diplôme d’Études Musicales à l’unanimité avec les félicitations du jury. Depuis 2025, il poursuit son perfectionnement auprès de Christophe Mantoux au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris. Son parcours est marqué par le mentorat de Johann Vexo. Il participe par ailleurs à plusieurs académies et master classes, notamment auprès de Philippe Lefebvre, Vincent Dubois, Thierry Escaich et Thomas Ospital.

Invité à se produire dans plusieurs pays d’Europe, d’Amérique du Nord et d’Afrique, Nicolas Kilhoffer s’est notamment produit en Autriche, en Belgique, au Canada, en Espagne, aux États-Unis, en Grèce, en Italie, au Kenya, au Portugal et au Royaume-Uni. Très attaché à la transmission, il a animé une master class d’improvisation à Nairobi (Kenya), réunissant des organistes venus de plusieurs pays d’Afrique de l’Est, avant d’enseigner l’improvisation aux étudiants de l’Université de Victoria (Canada) dans le cadre d’un semestre d’échange.

Parallèlement à son activité musicale, Nicolas Kilhoffer poursuit un parcours en finance à Audencia, après deux années de classes préparatoires. Cette double formation nourrit son intérêt pour les enjeux de mécénat, de développement et de rayonnement des institutions culturelles.

In a few words, a musical path…

French organist and improviser Nicolas Kilhoffer appears regularly in recital throughout Europe, North America and Africa. His programmes combine improvisation with a repertoire spanning more than five centuries of organ music, from the Renaissance to the twenty-first century.

Since Fall 2026, he has been pursuing a Master of Music degree at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music under the guidance of James O’Donnell., Organist Emeritus of Westminster Abbey. He has also been awarded the Wilson Family Sacred Music Internship and appointed Organ Scholar at Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City for the 2026–2027 season.

After first teaching himself the organ as a child, he studied with Daniel Maurer at the Strasbourg Conservatoire, where he graduated with the Diplôme d’Études Musicales with the unanimous commendation of the jury. Since 2025, he has continued his studies with Christophe Mantoux at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris. His artistic development has also been shaped by the guidance of Johann Vexo, while masterclasses with Philippe Lefebvre, Vincent Dubois, Thierry Escaich and Thomas Ospital have further enriched his musical training.

His concert activity has taken him to Austria, Belgium, Canada, Greece, Italy, Kenya, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. A committed teacher as well as performer, he has led an improvisation masterclass for cathedral musicians and organists from across East Africa in Nairobi and later taught improvisation to organ students in Victoria, British Columbia, during an academic exchange in Canada.

Alongside his musical career, he has pursued studies in finance at Audencia Business School. This complementary background has fostered a lasting interest in cultural philanthropy, institutional development and the long-term sustainability of cultural institutions.
